Not only the city center, but also its surroundings attracts the visitors with various sights and interesting activities. The Göcsej-Village Museum, the Parish Church and the Museum of the Hungarian Petroleum Industy are all worth visiting. The Azéleás Valley has been a nature reserve for a long time and is especially beautiful in the springtime when the flowers are blooming amongst the huge trees. Enjoy a fantastic walk in the Csácsi-Arboretum among the many different kinds of trees. In Aquacity, one of the largest aquaparcs in Central Europe, you can spend a fun day with the whole family. Lake Balaton

Without a doubt, the Balaton is one of the finest lakes in Europe. With almost 200 km of coastline,  it is the largest fresh-water lake in Europe. There is something for every taste to be found in the innumerable small and large holiday resorts. The average depth of the lake is only 3 meters ensuring high water temperature during the summer months (in August it can reach 27°C). The beautiful Festetics Castle in Keszthely is also only 40 minutes away by car.


Spa – thermal water

Hévíz (the world’s largest thermal lake), Zalakaros (Thermal- and Wellnesscenter) und Kehidakustány (various medical and adventure pools, a huge 94 meter long chute with light and sound effects and many more) can all be reached within an hour by car.


Hiking / bicycle

A highlight for hiking fans is the near area „Őrség” (Guardian country), surrounded by woods and groves in a natural setting. If you visit it, you will enjoy the comfortable silence and pure air of the area. Traditional rustic small crafts such as basket weaving, pumpkin seed oil pressing and pottery can be experienced first hand in the courtyards of master craftsmen. The land Göcsej with its 70 romantic villages and the Mura Valley in the southwestern border area can also be discovered by following the many hiking routes.
